Travel Day Mayhem: From Kuala Lumpur to Istanbul (via Muscat)
What a travel day! I left my hostel in Kuala Lumpur at 4am, thinking I’d have time to spare—but the shopping centre was locked, and I couldn’t find the train station entrance in the dark. Thankfully, the first flight to Muscat had two empty seats next to me, so I could stretch out and rest. But of course, things didn’t go smoothly for long…
We landed 30 minutes late, and I had to sprint to catch my connecting flight to Istanbul. By the time I arrived, I was exhausted and grumpy—and it only got worse! The airport bus dropped me way too far from my hostel, my downloaded maps didn’t work, and I had no internet. In desperation, I flagged down a taxi… only to get totally ripped off. A journey that should’ve cost 200 lira ended up costing 600!
