Rod and I drove through the Kumbira Forest to Gabela and from there to the Pedras Negras (Black Rocks) – still en route to the Calendula Falls. The forest was one of the highlights of our trip and the Pedras Negras is one of the most beautiful places we have ever camped at and certainly our favourite in Angola. The Calendula Falls were impressive and we were glad we made the effort to get there. This would be the turning point of our trip as we would then head South towards Lubango and start heading home.
