Pastoruri Glacier is located high up at 5,200m/17,000ft a.m.sl. in Huascaran National Park, Peru. It is one of the last remaining glaciers in the tropical region of South America. Due to #climatechange and global warming, Pastoruri Glacier is in permanent retreat and scientists estimate that it will completely disappear in the next 10 years.

In this video, we explore the most unique things to see in Huascaran National Park, near the town of Huaraz in Northern Peru. Besides Pastoruri Glacier, we are also treated to a close-up encounter with the queen of the Andes (Puya Raimondii), one of the most “unique” looking plants in the world.
