Flying into Tarawa, Kiribati (FJ231): 5 Nov

Flying into Tarawa, Kiribati, was one of the most exciting flights I have ever done. On this day, we arrived from the south (from Fiji) and the flight path takes the you on a very scenic path over the the airfield to take a slight north-west turn to track along the northern archipelago until you turn south east to the runway. The flight path gave beautiful views of the island chain and the spectacular lagoon between the triangle shaped chain. The pilots must have been distracted too, because we had a rough landing – caught on video!
