Remnants of ancient civilizations often attract interest from tourists all over the world, and why wouldn’t it ? There sure is something fascinating about witnessing the work of ancient kingdoms, especially when the structures are still standing to this day. It feels like going back in time. In the midst of this, there is an ancient city that somehow stayed under the radar despite being a UNESCO World Heritage Site : Bagan. Of the 10 thousand Bhuddist temples, pagodas and monasteries that used to exist in this plain of central Myanmar, over 2200 are still standing today, and open for visitors.
