ATIVESITE | River for All

The Rimbang Baling Wildlife Reserve in Riau Province, which boasts the Subayang river and its pristine water, is a wild habitat of the increasingly scarce Sumatran tigers. Now, the river and its role in supporting both the livelihood of the local community and tiger conservation efforts have become the subject of WWF-Indonesia’s new documentary. As part of the ever-growing urban community, often times it proves to be a challenge to understand the bond between us and nature. ‘Bond’ implies unity, not merely a connection. As such, the movie aspires to paint a vivid and emotional illustration of the bond between rivers, flora, fauna and humans.
