ATIVESITE | Innovative solutions to advance equitable care: an interview with Julie Kim and Katie Bollbach
To achieve a healthier future, dismantling barriers to health equity will be critical. Hear from President of Takeda U.S., Julie Kim, and Katie Bollbach, Executive Director of Partners in Health (PIH) U.S., as they discuss innovative solutions being led by their organizations to advance equitable care at the 2024 Aspen Ideas: Health event.
Founded 40 years ago, PIH is a non-profit, global health organization that fights social injustice by bringing the benefits of modern medical science first and foremost to the most vulnerable communities worldwide. Building on community-driven insights and collaborations from its U.S. COVID-19 response efforts in 2020, PIH launched the Extended Community-Centered Health Equity Initiative, in partnership with Takeda, to address social determinants of health and improve access to care within communities across Massachusetts.
In this interview, Julie and Katie speak further on the initiative’s goals to address systemic barriers to equity in communities and at the policy level, strengthening health system infrastructure and care delivery, and enhancing opportunities for community health workers to improve care navigation and build more equitable health systems.
