ATIVESITE | Partnering with the Community | Cincinnati Children’s
Michelle Hopkins:
Working in partnership with communities is in Cincinnati Children’s DNA. We work closely with Avondale partners to better understand the community and really get to know our neighbors.
Nerissa Morris, SVP, Chief HR and Diversity Officer:
Partnership with the community is vital. Being able to co-create this space for patients and families so that it is not only in the community, but a part of the community, and that the community feels a part of this project was vitally important.
Adison Nelson, Director, Community Relations:
They are the everyday experts, as it relates to the needs of the children and families in the Avondale community. So, with our mission to improve child health, we would certainly want those experts at the table, along with us, and that included their participation and the Critical Care Building Community Advisory Committee, as well as the Avondale Partnership Committee, to name a few.
Tony Moore, Avondale Community Council President:
Cincinnati Children’s has kind of gone out of their way to listen to all of the things that we feel are important to the community. Most importantly, they’ve adopted the philosophy that things like our quality of life plan are important not just to Avondale, but also to Children’s as well.
Adison Nelson, Director, Community Relations:
Thank you for showing up to the variety of meetings we’ve had over the past five plus years.
Thank you for your honest and candid feedback on how we could all become better together.
Michelle Hopkins:
From what we learned, we created specific services and spaces for the neighborhood and broader community. We are proud to call Avondale our home and are committed to ongoing partnership and support of the community we serve. We remain committed to improving access to health care, enhancing the health of the community, advancing medical and healthcare knowledge and education. We will continue to Pursue Our Potential Together, so all kids can pursue theirs.
