If you’re visiting Santiago de Chile but are short on time and have one day or less to see the city – this is the video guide for you! I show you the main sights that I believe should make it into your itinerary for a day in Santiago de Chile and obviously what to do in Santiago de Chile, what to see in Chile, where to eat in Santiago etc.
This is a huge city with SO much to do and I am aware of the attractions that I didn’t cover, but once again – this is how I believe a day here should be spent without rushing around between activities. Notes:
I got here by plane from Buenos Aires and the airport in Santiago is exceptionally clean and with no queues when I landed. They asked us to fill out an online form before landing but it was never checked by the staff.
The local currency is the Chilean peso, the exchange rate with the US Dollar is currently 1000.
The weather here is often cloudy and cool so remember to bring a jacket.
It’s safe in the central area at daytime but you still need to be vigilant and try not to walk around alone at night.
Matsuri in the Mandarin Oriental hotel was fantastic and if you’d like other dinner options, I would recommend CasaLuz in Barrio Italia, Palacio de la Chorillana in Barrio Bellavista and Chipe in Barrio Bellavista.
