ATIVESITE | Cardiac Patient Returns to Play Concert for Staffers Who Saved His Life

Musician Keith Ruzika suffered what could have been a potentially fatal heart attack after undergoing an angiogram at the Sandra Atlas Bass Heart Hospital at North Shore University Hospital.

Luckily, our team sprung into action to perform immediate CPR and get Keith hooked up to ECMO. In time, Keith’s heart function was restored, and he was able to play music again.

He was joined by his South Bay Trio on Oct. 21 to play a concert in the lobby of the new Petrocelli Surgical Pavilion to thank the health care workers who gave him a second chance.
