My Best Experiences In West Africa
On February 1st, 2024, I left Gambia with one mission: to travel to every single country in West Africa by road. Here’s how I did it.
From Gambia, I crossed into Guinea via Senegal, and continued through Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Niger, Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal, Cape Verde, and Guinea-Bissau, before finally returning home through Senegal.
This journey took me five months and cost approximately 481,874.20 GMD—around $7,000 USD. It was one of the most intense, enlightening, and exhausting experiences of my life. Here are some of the things I learned along the way.
